English and Ebonics "Spanglish"
BEV is a matter of some public controversy as was seen most recently in the debate over the Ebonics ruling by the Oakland school Board. For ebonics it was the second language, maing Oakland the first district in the nation to give the dialect official status in programs targeting bilingual stuents. This debate has made it clear to sociolinguists that they had failed in one of their primary objectives. A number of scholars do not accept such a scenario. So those are the differences and likes about ebonics.
